Provides an effective, compact, lightweight and inexpensive method of providing controlled lift assist in applications where devices need to be moved, rotated, and/or held in place. Because gas springs provide for a controlled rate of extension, their performance is considered to be smoother and more desirable than traditional mechanical spring mechanisms.
