The 2022 Season Opener in Kissimmee, FL for P1AquaX was held April 30th-May 1st.
The PWCParts Watercraft Race Team came ready to race, with an impressive showing on their new 2022 RXP-X 300.
Moto 1 in the Am300 class saw Joe Johnson take the overall WIN, after 2 DQ's during tech inspection.
Moto 2 saw the same result, with Joe Johnson taking the checkered flag. This time leading Wire-to-Wire, with a significant 34 second lead over 2nd place.
Moto 3 was looking to be a repeat of the first 2, with Johnson battling for the lead over Mo Salhi. Unfortunately with 5min to go in Moto 3, the PWCParts RXP-X 300 suffered a catastrophic engine failure, and Johnson ended with a DNF.
Overall for the weekend, Johnson tied in points with Enrique Chia. Due to the tie-breaker going to the highest finisher in Moto 3, and Johnson DNF, the tie went to Chia and Johnson took home the 2nd place trophy.
The PWCParts team looks forward to Round 2 in Sarasota, FL.
Johnson leads the points with 50 headed into Round 2.
